3. Keratosis Pilaris

A condition known as “chicken skin,” KP is quite common, affecting an estimated 40-50% of adults and approximately 50% of adolescents. It is described by the appearance of many small horny plugs just like goosebumps that won’t go away. They are visibly blocking the hair follicles located on the upper and outer parts of the skin. The raised, rough discolored bumps skin usually forms around the thighs, cheeks and arms. Keratosis Pilaris is often attributed to fatty acid and vitamin A deficiency, and the skin condition is usually linked to Gluten Intolerance.
