10 Signs of Gluten Intolerance You Shouldn’t Ignore

4. Autoimmune Diseases

Gluten sensitivity can worsen skin conditions related to auto-immune disorders in the skin, such as psoriasis or eczema. Psoriasis is a chronic type that manifests as skin redness and irritation, and falls under five different types- guttate, erythrodermic, inverse, pustular, and the most common plaque, which is characterized by raised, red skin patches covered with scales. Eczema, on the other hand, appears like a red rash where skin becomes scaly, dry, sore, and severely itchy. It’s much like an allergy but is not, and usually forms around knees, face, inside the elbows, and various body parts. Other diagnoses of autoimmune diseases that can be greatly influenced by Gluten Intolerance include Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Ulcerative colitis, Scleroderma, Lupus, or Multiple sclerosis.
