Depression is a  psychological condition that comes as a result of seasonal affective disorder (SAD). This condition is normally provoked by seasonal change and typically occurs during winter. People who live in nights and receive less sunlight are more likely to experience this condition.

A theory claims that decreased sunlight exposure affects the natural biological clock that regulates hormones, sleep, and moods. One should remedy the shortage of vitamin D content in the body to stimulate serotonin, a hormone responsible for mood.
